THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Mood:
down
Topic: AMERICA
There are two things that you cannot change a persons opinion about. They are religion and politics, and this country is going through an evolutionary change in both of these areas. The immigrants that are flooding in now come with a hand out, not a hand shake. These voters, whose numbers continue to grow, want everything the government can give them, and the politicians are eager to listen. Our generation saw the best that a democracy had to offer, but eventually too much freedom destroys itself. Prepare your children and grandchild for a different America, the good old days are gone.

TIGER'S APOLOGY
Mood:
mischievious
Topic: TIGER WOOD
Tiger’s apology was pitiful, and it completely broke him as a man and Super Star. After listening to it, I would still question his sincerity. He had plenty of time to think this out, and I think he made the wrong decision. Let’s break this down. First option, the one that Tiger has chosen. Degrade himself before God and everyone with a pathetic insincere apology about his past selfish behavior. He requested forgiveness from is wife, family and sponsors. This is done in hope of saving a marriage that will never work again anyway. To much damage has already been done. He also states that he will go to rehab to correct this corrupt physiological behavior. After all this is completed, he expects to return to golf, the great talent that he is, but also be a perfect father and husband. Good luck making this work Tiger. Second option, the one that he should have chosen. Admit to the world that he has cheated on his wife, and give her 100 million dollars and a divorce. Then, establish himself as the greatest party animal and super stud of all time. Have you seen the women that he has been with? I don’t think there is as dog in the bunch. Get on with the life that he really wants. Once he is single again, he can get back to playing great golf, and he can party with whomever he wants to without fear of offending his family. Also, he will not need to continue with that stupid rehab, which is not going to cure him anyway. Admit it Tiger, you had a great life, and you love it. Golf all day and party all night, what could be better? There is a whole different group of sponsors waiting for your endorsements. You have a better chance of making this option work. NUCLEAR WEAPONS
Mood:
cool
Topic: IRAN
Iranian leader Ahmadinejad last week declared that they are now a nuclear power, and our President Obama has yet to give a response. Hillary has been dispatched to the middle east to try and gain support for sanctions against Iran. Don’t we already have sanctions against Iran? I guest Obama does not want to hurt the nice guy image he gained with his new middle eastern friends. Friends he made apologizing for Americas past arrogance and aggression. Does he need their approval before he speaks? He continues to show his weakness to the world. No good will come to a nation that is weak. Beware of future attacks physical and verbal. Politically Correct
Mood:
irritated
Topic: SARAH PALIN
Can we just stop the bickering and pay attention to the issues as hand? Sarah Palin is now bashing Rahm Emanuel for his comment about retarded participants in the Special Olympics. Now, I like Sarah and what she stands for, and I can’t stand Rahm Emanuel, but I have to back up on this attack. I agree with many of Palin’s views, and her positions on conservatism. I believe that she was treated unfairly in the last election, but I don’t believe that she should be president. She can make a huge impact on the Republican Party in the 2010 and 2012 election, but I only want to see her as a player and not the star. Back to the point. Let’s stop the political correctness and focus on the issues. The country needs jobs, and an energy solution not more rhetoric. We have gone overboard with Political Correctness. TERRORIST TRIALS
Mood:
irritated
We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. I would just like to clarify a couple of things. The constitution was established for the people of the United States of America, and the people who pledge their allegiance to it. We are not the constitution of the world. We do not owe our freedoms, and the protection of rights, to every citizen of the world; nor do we owe those rights to every illegal alien who wants to circumvent our borders. We are a country at war with the Al Qaeda terrorist. This is a non-conventional war, but a full fledged war none the else. They will do anything to destroy our way of life. They do not fight us on a battlefield with hundreds of soldiers facing each other in combat. They attack innocent citizens one or two combatants at a time. When we capture one of these terrorists, they are a prisoner of war, not a domestic criminal. They should never be given a trial in our justice system, and we do not owe them the same rights of the citizens of the United States. They should be tried as war criminals, and they should be held as prisoners of war until the day a truce is signed between Al Qaeda and the People of the United States. It is time to tell Washington to wake up, or we will get them out. Check out my art work at: http://www.e2philosophy.com/

BE CAREFUL AMERICA
Mood:
irritated
I have not decided who I will vote for in this coming election. We really did not have much of a choice to begin with. Neither McCain or Obama have given me much hope for the future of this country, and I don’t think either of them have a plan to get us out of this energy disaster. The whole problem with this economy today is traced directly to oil prices. These price increases have affected every part of our daily life, and they will continue to do so until an alternative is found. I want a candidate that will put forward a plan for this country to be oil independent within ten years. This country has the people, ingenuity, and capability to find and develop that alternative energy source. The main problem is keeping the oil companies hands out of that solution. Their interest is to kill all alternatives, so they can continue to line their pockets with their huge profits. This country also has to wakeup to the role that nuclear energy plants can play in the future. The benefits of nuclear plants far out ways the dangers they present. I served aboard a nuclear submarine in the Navy, and I know first hand the power that nuclear energy can have on providing the electric power we need. Had we not stopped our nuclear power plant construction some twenty years ago, we would have all the cheap electric power that we need. Wake up America. If we do not come up with an energy plan, we will continue to have increased bankruptcy, foreclosures, food shortages, increased crime, and even more Americans falling into poverty.

IDENTITY THEFT
Mood:
irritated
Topic: WRITE CONGRESS
· Up to 700,000 people in the United States may be victimized by identity bandits each year, according to the Justice Department (during press release- 2002 Federal Trade Commission Study). Recent reports now talk about 10,000,000 victims. · The Secret Service estimates that in 1997 consumers lost more than $745 million due to identity theft. These days it is probably in the billions.
A recent report on identity theft warned that there is likely to be "mass victimization" of consumers within the next two years. The report said consumers should be extra careful to monitor all their financial transactions for unexplained account activity, withdrawals, or fund transfers. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America. The average victim spends 175 hours and $1000.00 repairing the damage. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission says that identity theft is its number one source of consumer complaints - 42 percent of all complaints, in 2001. " Every 79 seconds, a thief steals someone's identity, opens accounts in the victim's name and goes on a buying spree." -CBSnews.com, 1/25/2001 A study by Gartner Group reveals that 1 in 50 consumers have suffered identity theft. The survey also indicates consumers are so concerned about the problem that they are calling for changes in the way electronic transactions are performed. According to the FTC's figures, ID theft is the most popular form of consumer fraud, in part because it is the most profitable. ID thieves stole nearly $100 million from financial institutions last year, or an average of $6,767 per victim. The above facts come from: http://www.myidfix.com/identity-theft-cases-statistics.php In light of these statistics, it is time for Congress to act. We need new laws that will make the Banks and Credit givers more responsible for this crime. These creditors do not do a sufficient job of checking applicants, to insure that they are approving credit for the right person. If the Credit Companies were held accountable for giving credit to the wrong person, they would be more cautious in approving it. They are so eager to give out credit to anybody with a SSN and Birth date they don’t complete a proper check. The victims in these crimes have to spend their time and money to get their identity cleared up. The credit companies bare no burden unless the victim can prove it is not his account. This crime could be almost completely wiped out, if the Credit Companies were held to a higher standard, and held accountable for their mistakes. Credit companies have all of our personal information. They should know when a credit card goes to the wrong address, and they should be required to insure this does not happen. WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN, AND LET'S GET LAWS PAST TO MAKE CREDIT COMPANIES ACCOUNTABLE FOR IDENTITY THEFT.

BAD TIMING
Mood:

Topic: GERALD FORD
I think it is unfortunate that Bob Woodward chose to release the interview with the late President Gerald Ford before the man is cold and in the ground. I would think that waiting until after the funeral would have been soon enough.
This week is a time for showing respect and admiration for the man and his accomplishments. It should be a week of dignity and compassion for the family of Gerald Ford. Instead Bob Woodward has elected to run is interview as a self serving publicity stunt. I don't agree with the president on Iraq, but this was not breaking news, and it could have waited a week to be exposed. After all, the interview was done two years ago.
Gerald Ford asked that the interview not be made public until after his death. I think he meant more than 30 minutes after his death. Woodward, show some class in the future.
